We love taking scenic drives to Bighorn Canyon Recreation Area. There are a couple ways to get there from the campground. Our favorite is to make a big loop, heading towards Greybull and Lovell to start and returning home driving up 14A to Burgess Junction to come home. It’s a fantastic, easy way to take a day long scenic drive.

Spring has mostly arrived in Big Horn County, so we decided to take a scenic Monday drive.  Last year at this time we saw a mama bear and her cubs in Bighorn Recreation area and hoped we would see some again.  While we did not see any bears today, we did see some beautiful wild horses and a great family of big horn sheep! While we also have big horn sheep in Shell Canyon, they are particularly abundant in the Pryor Mountains. Check out these beautiful creatures:
